Happened every year for all the SAT tests we’ve ever had to take (3 kids). Different locations too. There’s a sweet spot where if you get there 15 minutes earlier you avoid the crush.

My kid took the SAT at a Fairfax school today. He drove himself and had no problems. The start time was on the ticket.

Oh no. My son took it there this morning but we got there a bit before 7:30. I waited u til the doors opened, and as I drove out was amazed at the traffic coming in. I stopped and let as many cars goin as could fit. My son said they seemed to wait a long time before starting, so maybe they gave a few extra minutes?

Good to know. Mine tok sat at Springbrook in Spring of 21, and it was pretty easy, but maybe they reduced numbers of enrolled back then. My other will be there in Sep for ACT, so appreciate the heads up!

It was a bad scene. My daughter thought they started the test a little late.

Is this typical at most locations?

What time does it end?

I felt bad for the kids who were having to get out and walk/run. Hopefully they let kids check in late.

"Doors close at 8"!

My kid took the test today at Springbook. What a ****show. Is traffic like that every school day? I have 4 kids and they have taken SATS at a number of area public and independent schools. Never seen the CF that was Springbrook this morning.

Unfortunately seems typical for any large "gathering" in the DMV. Last June, the wait to get into Chantilly HS looked like the original COVID test lines or a presidential election. Out of the building into the parking lot.

Springbrook has always been like that. Also had kids take tests at Good Counsel- easier traffic- but also gets backed up

That sounds stressful. I think it ends around noon.

We discovered last night that the admission ticket had no start time - so at least you were there by 8. They must turn away lots of kids. The test itself is 180 minutes - but you don't know when they start (presumably between 8:30 and 9) or how much time they leave for breaks. We told DD we'd be in the parking lot by 11:45.

My DD is taking the SAT for the first time and was at Springbrook HS. The traffic was a total nightmare — it was gridlocked. Kids were getting out of their cars on New Hampshire and running to the school. There is no way everyone was in by 8 am.
