Brightview in Rockville Town Center seemed very nice when we toured it a few weeks ago.

PP here. If you need assisted living down the line, the Landow House is directly behind the Ring House.

I'm not sure where the Revitz House fits in to all of this (maybe it's the cheaper alternative? Not sure) but the Hebrew Home is their rehab facility, and that's behind the JCC.

My mom just moved into the Ring House and it's wonderful. They have about a dozen activities daily, including trips (Annapolis, DC, Philadelphia). Everyone has a kitchen, but they provide you with breakfast and dinner (either in their dining hall, which allows for easy socialization, or served to your apartment) and weekly cleaning services. It's right behind Trader Joe's, and there's a shuttle to various shopping centers (including that one) in the area. Everyone gets their own parking space so he always has a spot.

The daily activities include art, movement, movies, etc. They have a pool table, exercise room, and I think table tennis. They also have a library room.

My mom was really worried about moving there ("it's all old people, I don't want to be around a bunch of people using walkers and canes") but she really enjoys it now. So much opportunity for socialization.

And it's right across the street from the JCC and behind a synagogue (B'nai Israel, a Conservative synagogue that several people from the Ring House attend).

It's been really wonderful. All of my family members want to move there when we're old.

I agree with Ring House! They are across the street from the JCC. MIL is there, they have some really great programs.

Make sure it's a place that also has AL and Memory care. things can turn on a dime.

Ingleside King Farn checks his boxes but is not as close to the JCC. Might be good to compare

It does look like this hits the nail on the head, and has the continuing care options he needs. All the other options in the area are not Jewish and/or on isolated campuses.

My dad is looking at independent living in this area and I think Rockville would be a good choice for him. He's going to be 90 but he's active, sharp, and very independent. I'd like recommendations for independent living we can tour that is:

* In Downtown Rockville, hopefully relatively near the JCC and the "White Flint" Metro, near shopping. A block or two off Rockville Pike would be great.
* Top of the line, but not astronomical
* Dad needs a one bedroom apartment, with a kitchen, and then an active situation with clubs, interactions, dining, intellectual life, trips to theater, community life, etc.
* Assistance with obtaining medical care and a "graduation program" to assisted living or nursing care when necessary.
* Jewish population and diverse liberal educated population would be great.

Thanks for your recommendations.
