My mom just moved into the Ring House and it's wonderful. They have about a dozen activities daily, including trips (Annapolis, DC, Philadelphia). Everyone has a kitchen, but they provide you with breakfast and dinner (either in their dining hall, which allows for easy socialization, or served to your apartment) and weekly cleaning services. It's right behind Trader Joe's, and there's a shuttle to various shopping centers (including that one) in the area. Everyone gets their own parking space so he always has a spot.
The daily activities include art, movement, movies, etc. They have a pool table, exercise room, and I think table tennis. They also have a library room.
My mom was really worried about moving there ("it's all old people, I don't want to be around a bunch of people using walkers and canes") but she really enjoys it now. So much opportunity for socialization.
And it's right across the street from the JCC and behind a synagogue (B'nai Israel, a Conservative synagogue that several people from the Ring House attend).
It's been really wonderful. All of my family members want to move there when we're old.
