I posted it at 12:48 (several days ago) They DID have it, but rescinded it in January.

I saw that. It said rescinded for remainder of school year. If that was the actual language voted on, then it would mean it is in place for this school year, but probably the reporter just wrote it a little differently.

There are all kinds of existing vaccination requirements in school. I just provided my child’s entire vaccination history to enroll. This is nothing new!

DP. But there are kids that don’t even do that for religious or other reasons. So doesn’t make sense for Covid. One of my good friends didn’t get a single vaccine until her 20s and went to public school like everyone else.

The religious exemption is for people who are Christian Scientists and forgo all medicine, like my college boyfriend, and use prayer instead. It is gross that people take advantage of this exemption because they have a fear of vaccines, when they don't have a sincere religious belief about vaccination per se. Christian Scientists will even get vaccinated if they are required to by the law, they just do not choose to get them for health/faith reasons if they don't have to.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that your friend was taking advantage of the exemption -- my boyfriend didn't have any vaccines, either. But he had never been to the doctor and wouldn't even take aspirin. Its the people nowadays that are doing it. One person in a school might truly have a religious reason, but it is pretty rare for someone to eschew all modern medicine.

Pretty sure Fairfax county required the Covid vaccine for sports last year.

They don’t now. It wasn’t brought up in any of our meetings or paperwork for freshman sports.

What are the rules in LCPS for high school? The high school's page appears to be from 2020.
