These are one-grade numbers:
Clemente 75
Eastern 112
MLK 75
Takoma 125

This report is very interesting. From 2019 to 2021, number of students placed has gone down while the student pool increased.
Am I reading this right? Did they put two groups at disadvantage and promoted two other groups?
The numbers are very curious. It doesn't make sense why the # of placed is going down so much. At Eastern the number of students "placed" in 2020 was 188 while in 2021 it was only 112. Anybody know what is going on? All of the schools show a drop.

That was for 2021. Those students would now be seventh graders.

I am guessing that "placed" in this context includes kids who declined. So, Eastern made 188 offers to fill 110 slots (or whatever) but then the number of acceptances went up in 2021. That makes some sense, since the 2020 class was finishing out a covid year. I have a child in that class (not at Eastern) and they had more than a handful of friends who had applied to private schools AND the magnet program. When it became clear that the 2020/21 year would be mostly virtual, those kids took the private school option.

Why don't they expand it to 100 per grade at Clemente and King? This will provide opportunities for all eligible kids right?
