We just do a bunch of grilled stuff with seasonal sides.

DH grills, steak, chick, shrimp, fish, a few racks of ribs.

I think you should ball watermelon and serve that along with sorbet for dessert.

Drinks. For apps, do a veggie tray with cut up melon, cut up cheese, crackers, and walnuts/almonds/whatever.

We usually do mixed grill (steak, chicken, mild and hot sausages, and portobellos), a big beautiful and delicious green salad with homemade dressing, and homemade mac and cheese. Sometimes a platter of sliced tomatoes with fresh basil, scant balsamic, salt and pepper for a little extra something on the table and if I have good tomatoes.
