For in state kids, it is CHEAP. And if you can live at home and attend UIC? That's the sweet spot. They have an excellent medical program and a decent education program.

For any out-of-state kids who could get some merit aid, maybe it would be good alternative for any students who are thinking about going to schools in the UK or EU to hold down costs.

Good masters programs and does have low level D1 sports. However, it is mostly a commuter school on an unattractive campus.

I live close to UIC -- what do you want to know?

From what I can tell, it's a very diverse urban school, not the best in the UI system but probably second, with easy access to everything Chicago offers. The campus doesn't have a particularly residential feel but is right in the middle of the city and has all of the typical college stuff like cheap food and coffee shops nearby.

When I lived in Chicago (about 8 years ago) I've done things on that campus before, so not an official visit for my undergraduate kid, but I might have relevant knowledge depending on what you want to know.
