The racist undertones in this thread are appalling

I was supposed to go, but had a family emergency so my friend took her 12 year old DD instead.
She got there early and was able to park and go to two places before it got too crazy, but after about an hour she started to feel unsafe and left. I can't even imagine how much worse it got!

It cost about $37.50 for my kids to go. They stood in a line a total of three hours for 2 plates of food.

Wow, sounds just like my experience at the Something in the Water Festival in June (which the fire Marshall ended up shutting down to new entries and not letting new people in). Was a complete $hitshow.

That one was an absolute epic fail. An hour in line to get in. Another hour in line at a vendor, only to find out the line snaked around and was going to a totally different food vendor. Tried to find another place, but most seemed to be completely mobbed by lines, or were putting up signs saying they were out of food. Then another hour in line to get OUT of the fenced-in event venue itself.

Almost 4 hours standing in line total, for nothing. Never. Again.

Sounds like we've got our own local Fyre Festival. That Reddit thread sounds horrendous.

They were cheap and didn’t actually reserve or pay for the fairgrounds—just the parking lot. So they had the event in the parking lot. They oversold both tickets and parking by a ridiculous event fir the spot they had

The parking was the least of the concerns. People are posting they didn't even let emergency services know in time. They had zero shade and no water...people were passing out from best exhaustion with EMS woefully unprepared and clogged up due to traffic. Luckily no one died or had a stroke.

The state really needs to stop handing out permits for this gigantic debacle until organizers show they’re putting adequate plans in place to handle the crowds. They clearly oversold this event by one or two orders of magnitude than they could handle. They clogged up major roads and highways across 2 friggin’ counties because of their greed for ticket sales. What a giant crap show. Why does the state allow this disaster to happen?
