My youngest DC is at Rachel Carson so ok, probably considered a "good" school.
My oldest is at South Lakes.... which, based on the other thread probably is not considered a "good" school (we are zoned for Westfield HS a "good" school maybe - but pupil placed to South Lakes for the IB program).

South Lakes is considered a "good" school. It's roughly in the center in terms of SAT and other metrics among the FCPS high schools--and the FCPS high schools as a whole are considered good.

Not necessarily true. I think your assumption is valid for inner-city or very rural school systems where the schools fail on a wide scale. Schools in FCPS that are low-performing/low-income had some of the strongest teacher satisfaction survey results as documented in the last ES employee survey from a few years ago. In most cases schools with higher than average vacancies are due to bad admin.

0 for 5 kids. One HS teacher is new, but has a masters in education from GMU, so she’s a legit teacher.

It's possible that the teacher is hired, but still being processed in HR. The teacher cannot show up in SIS until that is completed.

MS DD has 1 class currently without a teacher, despite recent communication from the school that they are fully staffed. How are your MS and HS kid fairing? Do they have teachers for each of their classes?
