Oh geeze, for all I know the funeral has taken place! And wouldn’t a funeral arrangement be hundreds of dollars? (Sorry I’m way out of my depth on funeral flowers. I haven’t attended many funerals and Christian funerals and deaths are not part of my cultural tradition so I don’t know the protocols)

Hello,
My boss lost her parent this week. She’s a nice person and we collected about $350 to get her a Door Dash gift card and some flowers. The gift card is a simple thing to procure but I’m looking for suggestions for the flowers.1) My boss is out of town and we are not sure when she will be back. I feel very intrusive asking her address in her home city. Should I just wait until I know she’s back before ordering them? What if she’s not back for weeks? 2) she lives down the road from me. Instead of spending $100 on a delivered arrangement, I’d love to just leave her a nice bouquet from Whole Foods etc and put more of the $$$ we’ve collected towards her gift card.
The flowers are a nice gesture but the logistics are kind of crushing me. And I’m the person in charge of collecting the money and procuring these items (as well as picking up her busy workload while she’s out). So, does anyone have any suggestions for how to handle this? The virtual greeting card will be delivered Friday AM, so I’d like the door dash card to also arrive in her inbox at that time. Maybe just set aside some cash and have the flowers delivered to her home later? TIA for any advice!
