I used to never tip on carry out, but it seems that the customs changed during the pandemic, so I now tip around 10%.

Carry out meaning you call in an order and drive or walk to pick up the food that the establishment sold you and you are paying them the fair asking price for the food? Nothing. Tops are usually for service personnel such as waiters. Packing up the food that they sold you is part of the transaction.

We tip 18% for carryout.

That being said, I love our usual restaurants and the people who work there, so we tip 10% on carry out. Since Covid began, we're rarely eaten at a restaurant, but when we do, and the people are nice, we give 20%. Before the pandemic we were not so generous.
