What kind of engagement ring do you have? If you have a plain band solitaire you can pretty much get any eternity band you want. If you have a more complicated engagement ring with diamonds on the band then it will be more work to find something that compliments that ring well

What happens when it needs to be resized? That sounds more complicated to fix. I opted for just half. Now that I’m older and my joints are larger, I’m glad I did. Had to resize my ring. MIL can no longer wear her eternity band because of the hassle of resizing.

If you’re in Alexandria, I’d actually recommend kings jewelers or mystique over ALX. They both have amazing quality for the prices and have good selections of eternity bands. ALX is better for something custom. You need to try on various sizes. My friend and i were amazed at how different the various carat weights looked on each of us.

If you are in northern Virginia, Shamas Jewelers in Burke are excellent. We’ve had a number of custom pieces done by them and every ring is absolutely beautiful.

Check out Tyson Watch and Jewelry Exchange. Someone in here recommended them and they’re great! I upgraded my engagement ring and two new stacking bands at a great price. They service in house and everything looks brand new.

I bought myself one from Blue Nile when they were having one of their frequent sales. This was a few years ago. Now with lab diamonds being so common and good quality, I would probably look for a nice lab diamond half or full eternity. James Allen has some good basic ones and frequent sales. There are some great designers who work with both lab and natural stones- check out Caysie Van Bebber as an example.

Where would you go for a a diamond eternity ring? And what specifics should I look for? I'm not a big jewelry person but I'd like something nice to replace/upgrade my wedding band (we were pinching pennies ten years ago). All advice is appreciated!
