The issue is they have already seen their grandparents for two weeks in July and I don’t see the point of going to see them again during the hectic week before school starts. DH and I both woh and there’s still a lot to do for the kids before they start school.

Also in-laws won’t take them anywhere except McDonald’s and they will be bored out of their mind. But yes, they can take care of them.

Dh is saying they need to spend time at the in-laws home now since those two weeks in July took place at our home and also a family vacation to the outer banks. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

Same but reverse! I'd have loved for my parents to take the kids for a week while the ILs were no way.

Depends on the kids, and the grandparents. My mom? Heck no. My IL's absolutely!

Depends on the grandparents. I trust DD with both sets of grandparents, but my parents are very active and live in Manhattan, so I know they’d take her to do things every day. DH’s parents live in Phoenix, so there’s a lot to do, but they are very sedentary. I think she’d get bored being at their house for a week because I’m not sure they’d take her to do anything.

We never did it the week before because we often schedule eye appointments, run last-minute "I need a new X" errands, and do a couple daddy/daughter things generally. My wife is at work, so it wouldn't matter to her, but my office is often slow that week so I take off to spend time with her.

It depends on the grandparents. If they are good people and kids well cared for, absolutely
