They went 6 years without any contact. Kim completely bypassed the breaking bad era and it seems like Saul did everything he could to block her out of his mind. In those 6 years he met Walter white, the breaking bad saga took place, and he went off the map and changed his identity and was living in Omaha as Gene. He made contact with her just before he was caught (that’s when he says it’s been 6 years) and when he heard she confessed about Howard, he basically took all blame, letting kim off the hook. Kim is a “free woman”— but she just started volunteering at a free legal services place in Florida so we can maybe assume she resumes life in Florida perhaps using her talents for good.

I thought it was great. That was as much of a redemption arc as we could hope for with a character like Saul.

For a moment I thought Kim is going to be his lawyer and will some how find a way to lower the jail time, but I'm thinking that is unlikely!

Huh? Kim on BB? No, she wasn't. She is however from the DC area.

Nothing happens to Kim that is very surprising. It was a pretty fitting ending.

She wasn’t on BB because the character hasn’t been written yet. It really isn’t a big mystery.


I mean she's also not in BB because the time lines diverge. Kim goes off and does her thing for something like 7+ years after the death of Howard while Jimmy gets involved with WW for about 1.75 years. We don't see Kim again until WW is dead.

MARIE! Her appearance was truly a surprise. Loved it!

Gene ending up in the dumpster reminded me of when he was searching for Sandpiper shredded documents.

When he flew back to ABQ, he was on Wayfarer Airlines which had the midair collision in Breaking Bad. Yep

That last smoke between Jimmy and Kim reminded me of that smoke they had in the parking lot in Season 1. That first scene was so much like a couple having a smoke after sex. This one was more "platonic".

Some episodes were so slow, some went nowhere, but I am going to miss this world.


Overall, I think Jimmie was paying homage to Kim and her owning the Howard fiasco. Jimmie finally realized what he deserved and made it happen.

So many callbacks:

Chuck was reading The Time Machine. A book that was in Jimmy’s nightstand and in his bookcase when the FBI raided his house.

It was a very sober ending. But I think perfectly fitting. Loved the light of the flame between Kim and Jimmy. Loved that he had to be Saul to survive. So sad the show and all these character had to come to an end.

I don’t know how to feel about it either. I’m neither satisfied or dissatisfied. I feel almost exactly like I felt at the end of Breaking Bad.

Starting this thread because I feel like the finale deserves its own, so I’ll repost:

I’m not sure how I wanted it to end, but that ending has left me feeling really depressed…especially seeing him at Montrose, “the Alcatraz of the Rockies.” To go from 7 years to 80+? Ugh.
The real ending is when some loose end (maybe from the cartel, maybe a former client) shanks him in the yard.
