We use a thumb drive that has a lightning adapter on one end and USB adapter on other end with storage between.

I’ve had trouble downloading all photos. The process starts and then I get an error notice. If I say just ignore that one and one’s like it, I get the rest, but the others (which can be a considerable number) get lost
Insights? Suggestions?

I just pay for icloud space. I also am very strict about going through my photos and only keeping the best one of a certain shot. This helps cut down on the number of photos you have to save. I tend to do it in the evening after I have taken pictures that day. Don't let it slide or you will never do it and you will have 10 photos of the exact same shot.

Same here. It also forces you to pick the best shot of the 32 different angles you took of the same moment. I decide on the best shot, delete the others, and never look back. After the Shutterfly album is done, I save the best photos of the year on my laptop and on a portable drive, then I delete most of them from my phone.

I have found the only way to get ahead of this problem is to create a book seasonally. I've lost too many photos by not doing this.

Op here. Another reason I’m asking is I just got an email saying my gmail is out of space! 2 years ago I got google photos app and it auto syncs all my photos. That took up a ton of space.

So after my phone ran out of space I just buy cloud space every month from apple. But I’m worried I’ll lose all these precious photos. What’s the best way to move them all from my phone to somewhere safe and secure?
