When LGBTQ+ people come out is highly personal and something we do in our own time when we're ready. Sometimes you're ready to tell some people but not others. If she wants to tell your dad then you should tell her that can be there with her and support her when she does it. Having allies, especially family is so helpful. Many of us lose our family when we come out. I know it sounds like something from a different era to kids these days but it does happen still.
The most important thing is for her to be safe and comfortable. It's a sad truth that a lot of queer kids are kicked out of their homes after coming out. If people can't accept their children and love them for who they are they shouldn't have kids.

I think the best way to support your sister is to call your dad out on his homophobic comments, especially if Dad knows you are straight (which I’m assuming you are from your post.)

I’m sorry about your dad. My parents said all kinds of stupid stuff that I think they really regret now, but affected me deeply. Dad needs to cut that $hit out.

She’s scared our dad might make some jokes about it, because he’s always saying jokes about gays and he’s doesn’t like them. What’s it’s the best way to come out? Should she wait or what? She doesn’t know to say it now or when she has a girlfriend.
