Lol at “these people” when you’re one of them.

OP thinks "families" (aka couples with young children?) are entitled to monopolize the place.

I also always thought it was tourists! Through the years visiting friends always ask about it. I assumed it was in a Fodors or other guide book.

The first year it was open it was really really good. Then it went downhill

You went to a Buffett brunch on a Sunday and you’re surprised it’s what it is…

+1. Like a PP, I thought only tourists went there. Their zero star WashPo review was scathing, and Tom S. is a pretty nice critic.

It's been my experience that out of towners like Founding Farmers. Maybe it's the name and the style of food (ethnic food isn't as appealing to tourists?), maybe it's the buffet. All of my acquaintances from my hometown seem to go there when visiting DC. One large lunch and then you don't need to eat a big dinner.

I'll never forget going a restaurant in Texas that had a breakfast buffet where guests were limited to one trip.

I've never seen people pile so much food on a plate. And then most of them covered the mountain with sausage gravy.

Americans have gained weight and are less mannered than ever before. The pandemic did a number on people. It could be the same crowd as before, just fatter and more mentally ill from 2 years of isolation

Pre-pandemic it seemed that it was families and younger folks finishing up their weekends and it wasn't crowd or rude people.

There is now also a certain element of rude and unmannered people who burp and eat in line often overweight, rude and there to just consume as much food possible.

What has changed? Maybe it's cheaper to graze for these people?

I also noticed some bottomless and buffet brunches are putting in time limits.
