We are a half hour away. The commute is not bad. The part that sucks is that they don’t live near their friends. We didn’t consider that part when deciding on a school, and I regret it.

My HS kid has a one hour commute one way, I wouldn’t do it again. But he stays because he likes his friends there.

About 20-30 minutes from home, 7 minutes from work. As I'm driving past all the closer schools en route, I do ask myself "why do we do this?" But the answer is because we like the school and it's a good fit so we keep doing it. Proximity is definitely something to consider when selecting a school, but it's not the only thing.

1lud is 20 minutes. The other is about 12 minutes. I would not go over 40 minutes in traffic.

10 mins, 15 in the rain when people drive slowly. I would not drive more than 20 mins personally but I don’t judge other that do. I’m the same with swim team. My kid is not on the best team in the area but she’s at the one 10 mins from our house which works for us.

Yes, particularly if the school has a robust busing system, including buses for after sports.
My kids have a 30-45 minute commute via school bus and don’t mind at all. They socialize with friends in the younger grades. In the older grades they either relax or review stuff before tests, etc.

Not at all. Heading into 2nd grade. We use the time to talk and she reads e-books. It's fine. I think about it like this...there are kids who go to their neighborhood school that have long bus rides.

Absolutely! Just switched and made our commute significantly worse! But whether the extra commuting is worth it depends on you, your child’s needs, and your family’s logistics. No one right answer.
