I agree with this comment and this is what I plan on wearing for mine. If you aren’t comfortable in a blazer don’t wear a blazer. But if you get a blazer buying a long one is a good idea because you can sit on the ends so it doesn’t look bunched up.

Can you show me a link?

Talk to the photographer re: color. I remember when I did a headshot, the photographer strongly recommended to avoid black and suggested dark grey or navy instead.

Since it's just a headshot, don't worry too much about the fit - you can pin and otherwise adjust on the spot as needed; bring a bunch of clothes pins with you. Just make sure the blazer fits at the shoulders. .

I would say no to scarf unless you wear them regularly. For the inexperienced difficult to tie and can look matronly in a hurry.

What about a dark color sweater? Then with scarf or necklace, depending on the sweater neckline and what looks best.

Look for a blazer without lapels that can be worn unbuttoned.

A business dress (think blazer or suit material) would also look good, or honestly any blouse that looks nice. If you don’t like blazers do t wear one. You want to be feeling great in your pic

OP, I missed that you are short - honestly, for a headshot, it's okay if the blazer is too long (You can fold the sleeves in if they are too long) or if it puckers at your stomach. They will be photographing you from the chest up (likely from the shoulders up).

Why are people being so mean???

OP - go somewhere that has a good plus size department and ask for help finding a black or navy blazer and neutral colored shell to go underneath (nothing too shiny). Then find a simple but substantial necklace and small gold earrings (maybe little hoops). Wear more makeup than you think you need and make sure your hair is smooth and shiny.

OP, do you have a signature color? If so, pick something with that color for your headshot. I find it pops more than the basic black or navy.

For one of my headshots, I wore a purple shell with a black blazer and a chunky necklace. For another headshot, I wore a purple dress and had a matching scarf. (Yes, purple is one of my colors).

If you don't want to find a blazer, find a solid color blouse, preferably long sleeves unless you want to show off your shoulders.

What would you wear for an interview? I'd do that. If you don't want a blazer, go with nice blouse that covers your shoulders.

Go to a free professional shopper at Macy's or Nordstrom and tell them before the appointment what you need. If you have a shell or blouse you'll wear under the blazer, bring/wear that when you go.

A bit more than my head will be in the photo.I have a job related to business, but fortunately work from home so I don't have to dress up too often.
I am about a size 18, but very short. The photographer recommends a blazer, but have never found a blazer that fits. Help!
