This is how it was described by a Russian journalist/human rights activist who visited her in prison. This was before the trial, though…I imagine now that she has been convicted, she will have to participate in the forced labor aspect of it. There is a sewing factory at the camp where she had previously been held.

But she's not "here." So what kind of punishment she'd receive (if any) here is irrelevant.

I've seen some terrible prison shows from Siberia, but I hope she's not in a prison like those.... Here she'd be in a prison like Orange is the New Black and not like supermax.

Has anyone written a memoir of their time in a Russian prison? Curious what it's actually like. What conditions is Brittany Griner is facing? Was also reading about the poor teacher, Mr. Fogel, and his experience (via letters to his family), but just in bits and pieces, nothing comprehensive. What are the conditions like (other than what I've seen on Stranger Things)?
