This is going to be big issue with getting EVs into cities. We live in a DC rowhouse neighborhood where only 2% of houses have a garage and only 50% of houses even have room in the rear "yard" to park a car. Most houses in our neighborhood would have to radically reconfigure their rear yard to accomodate an EV (eg, rip out their backdeck, remove hardscape features, pave over their vegetable garden, etc.)

We have no access to a charging station on our property and I'm not running a cord across the sidewalk.

The city really needs to build out charging stations on residential streets in the sidewalk median. If we had two chargers on our block, we wouldn't hesitate to buy an EV.

Assuming you're talking garage of private home. Installation could be inside garage or outside depending on preference. YouTube has plenty of videos on this. Ours is inside garage, done by electrician.

Not recommending but My DC neighbor (Takoma) runs a cord from house to street, crossing sidewalk using a rubber cord cover strip across sidewalk. Don’t know how they keep people from parking there when they use the. ar.

We are considering buying an electric minivan, but don’t have a garage equipped with a charging station. Are these installed inside of a garage or outside?
