Agree. I hate the door method because we vacation the week before school starts and my kids have to go to school not knowing who their teacher is on the first day.
Your kids do not have any friends?
I agree the door method is dumb in this day and age but weird that nobody can check for you. Also, I would bet it is posted in SIS before the first day. Maybe not before the door posting, but bet it is there before they actually have to show up at school.

Our school emails on Monday or Tuesday (which would be Aug 15 or 16) and our open house is on Thursday (Aug 18.) We are FCPS. Our old elementary school (also FCPS) posted lists on the door at the day of open house. That was a bit stressful and annoying. I like knowing a couple days in advance.

Our school posts all teacher assignments the Thursday or Friday before school and open house is the same day. No email. You go to the school and it’s posted on the door.

Teachers don’t even have their rosters yet. If your Kinder met their teacher, then that school is preparing significantly earlier than the others. Several schools still have K teacher openings.

The end of the week before school starts. So if school starts on Monday you’ll likely hear on Thursday or Friday.
