There is a poster who responds quickly (usually first page) to any post about monkeypox, covid, or any other public health issues with single word posts that say “yawn.” It sometimes ends up derailing the conversation because people then argue about the yawn post, not the substance of the OP. I find it annoying because of course if you are really bored with public health threads, you don’t have to read them.
Is it okay to report these? Would you consider deleting?
Example in this thread:

Just report the posts. If it is the same poster, I'll figure it out and deal with it then.
It is an obnoxious reply in that it says, "I only care about this topic enough to say that I don't care". That doesn't really add much to the conversation. If the poster really didn't care, they should just move on to a topic about which they did care. Passive aggression is not necessary.

Yes, in that thread it wasn’t picked up. But in many threads, it’s not ignored, and since it’s always on the first page, the chance of it getting picked up and derailing the thread is pretty high as the thread goes on.
One solution could be to just wait for the conversation to be derailed but that seems like more clean-up work for Jeff (but maybe he is fine with that). In any event, I don’t see what “yawn” adds to the conversations, though. It’s clearly just meant to annoy.
