Yes for my son - he was 98th percentile for length/height at birth, and has stayed there. He’s now 6’3” at age 15. When he was two his pediatrician looked at the growth chart and predicted 6’5” and then looked at us and said “huh, I don’t know.” My husband is 5’10” and I’m 5’9”, so a super tall kid is a bit surprising, but he has been consistent.

My Ds was always high percentile on height from birth and he is almost 6’2” at 19. I am 5’7” and my DH 5’9” on a tall day.

My DD had precocious puberty and was only supposed to be 5’2”. She is now almost 5’6” at 19.

My 5-1 mother and 5-7 father produced me and sister at 5-2 and our brother 5-10.

Pretty normal expectations.

Really? I don’t care what height my DC ends up but I thought the point of the growth charts was to catch a change as a symptom of something that could be important.

Mine were a bit surprising... DD always tracked on 90%ile+, the chart suggested she'd end up being 5'8'ish. But she hit puberty early and ended up 5'6". Which is the same height as me, so I guess not surprising, but out of sync with the growth chart.

OTOH, DS always tracked at the 50th%ile but had a late growth spurt and is now 6'1", three inches taller than DH. He's the tallest person in the family among all the uncles and cousins.

No, thats weird. Which calculator?

Yes, if it's a girl and the man is below average then she could be shorter than you. Calculating based on parents' heights is not very helpful. I am a below average height man. My first wife was 5'9 and my children with her have always been around 55-65th percentile height. My second wife is 5'6" and my children with her have always been 85th-95th percentile height.

Then this thread is not one you where can be helpful to the OP, so there is actually no reason for you to post.

My first one was around 85% since toddlerhood and he's 6'2 now. My youngest one started off the chart, then stayed at around 95% starting in elementary school and he's 6'3 now. Both boys.

One kid, yes, it was bang on. The other kid started slipping down the growth chart (from 80-90th percentile, to 70-80th, to 60-70) and topped out ~ 3" or 4" shorter than what was predicted based on parents' heights. Turns out, the pediatrician overlooked what turned out to be celiac disease until it was too late/too far along in puberty to catch up. DC remains quite salty about their (shorter-than-expected) height.

According to my DS's growth chart from the time he was a baby, our pediatrician predicted somewhere between 6'0" to 6'2". When he was a pre-teen, she narrowed in on 6'1". He just hit 20 years old and he is......6'1".

For those with older/grown children, I’m curious whether your child’s final height ended up tracking along the same general percentile that it did during childhood. DH and I are average height, and one of our children has always tracked in the lower percentiles (30-40ish), while the other has tracked a bit above average for height (75-85ish). From what I’ve read, height percentile before puberty is a pretty good predictor of adult height. Just curious if this turned out to be true for your kid(s)?
