But I'm not quick to pass judgment. If the passengers were being horrible, the driver has a right to kick them out of his vehicle. Drunk is not an excuse to be an obnoxious ass.

This.

Totally support the Lyft driver here. 100%.

Are you for real? The driver should’ve waited until they were in a safe place to stop and exit the vehicle - it was a busy highway!! This endangered everyone, ended a life and probably traumatized the driver of the car that hit the victim.

The driver needs to be held accountable.

Wish everyone stopped calling that a highway. It’s a road parallel to the beach. Not an interstate.

Coastal Highway is indeed a highway. Where do you thikn the name comes from?

Exactly. No one called it an interstate. The PP is ignorant.

DE-1 is basically a highway. Two lanes each way, divided with a median, speed limit 50mph.

I'm sure they can easily identify the Lyft driver.

You assume incorrectly. The Lyft driver had a kid with her who wasn’t properly restrained and the passengers were all dads who were giving her crap about it.

Was this published somewhere or do you have insider information?

His sister posted it on Facebook.

No, they were drunk off their asses. These were forty-year-old men out for a birthday party at a bar. Please. They did try and do the right thing and get a Lyft.

No one really knows what happened yet. We have one side.

This is a horrible tragedy that did not have to happen but it did. Speculating does no one any good.

Lyft has identified the driver but they are MIA

Not surprised Lyft and that driver are at fault.

Horrible.

https://people.com/politics/former-cuomo-adviser-killed-after-lyft-driver-kicked-him-out-on-highway/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=news_tab

He forced his passengers to exit on a highway where one was immediately struck and killed by a passing car. The Lyft driver then fled the scene. Police and Lyft are saying the driver has yet to be identified. I don’t understand this - doesn’t the software track all the rides? How else would they collect and distribute payment?
