Thanks PP, yeah it feels like the angle I have to bend and hold in order to help her get situated is especially awkward and uncomfortable. I'm in pretty good shape but not great, so I don't know if I could improve the issue through strength training or if it is what it is with the angle.

SUV or minivan would definitely help.

I drive a Civic and I feel there is something about the (low) height of the car seat that just kills my back when I'm getting my daughter buckled and situated. She just turned 2 and is rear-facing still. I'm also due with my second baby in a few weeks so I'll be dealing with little ones and car seats for a while.

To those who drive a small SUV so the car seat sits higher up relative to your body - is it noticeably less painful? If so I would consider a different vehicle.

Guess this is what I get for having babies at 40 haha.
