OP he obviously said that keeping his kids grounded is the hardest parenting for him and his wife. He didn’t say it was the hardest thing for all parents. Good grief.

So, I can imagine if your budget is unlimited, those conversations are a lot bigger. And you don’t have a fallback “I don’t have a budget for several oculus sets.”


I got my daughter over this hump by us agreeing most days were 'Looking" days and some days were "Buying" days. Setting her expectations really helped.

I think this is fine. He did not say it in a complaining tone at all. He is just acknowledging that he is conscious that he raises his kids in an incredibly rare bubble of privilege.

I actually agree with this. I get why people think he’s whining, but yea, being raised as child of the 1% puts a kid at risk for being a crappy adult. I give him credit for some self-awareness around the issue.
