They have at least 4-5 rooms. I had two kids there. One for 3 years, the other just in the infant room.

The rooms are grouped largely by age. The only "combined" room is infants + toddlers who are in a split room.

Personally, I thought it was just fine. I didn't realize how much better it COULD be until I went to a different center. The teachers are nice enough, but it definitely feels like they just have it a job in lieu of being able to get something else. Turnover was a problem when I was there. There are a few teachers who are AMAZING (e.g., Tanya), but the rest leave a lot to be desired. The director was generally difficult to deal with and not personable at all. My kids (mainly the older) started really thriving and learning once we went elsewhere. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of better options in the area. It is WAY overpriced for what you get.

What? They have Infants through PreK so cannot have only 2 rooms. I believe from looking at their website that they have:

toddlers
preschool
preK

So do they have 3,4,5 year olds together in the same classroom? The front desk person who gave a tour said it was mix of montessori and other philosophies that they follow.

Can I ask which home day care you were not satisfied with? We're looking a home daycares and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just saw this bumped and am pretty sure that was my review in May 2010 about my daughter starting at BH in Germantown. Now she's in Kindergarten and doing great, but I wanted to comment because my son goes there now so we have experience with more of the classrooms.

We have been extremely impressed and like the center a lot, we feel lucky that he's in a great place. He was in a home daycare and we were very dissatisfied. He started in the Toddler room this summer and is now in the "Two's". The teachers are great, and the support staff and director/assistant directors are excellent.

We feel really great about his care there and he seems to enjoy it.

We are looking for a switch for my son, 3 yr old, from a family day care to a good nurturing place. We visited DOE Bright Horizons and sort of liked it. However we also visited Goddard Kentlands and are quite confused between the two or if there are more good places out there, am not sure. Please share any views on this. Thanks in advance. SS

My 4 year old has been there since August of 2009, and we love it. I find the director and assistant director to be very communicative and have had very good experiences dealing with them. The teachers that my daughter has had (she's only been in one classroom there so far) have been wonderful. I really like the way that they deal with the different personality types of all the kids, and they are both very kind and patient. The same goes with the other teachers and support staff I have seen interacting with the kids.

I believe that the turnover is very low in terms of teachers and staff, at least that is what it seems like to us.

We like the atmosphere there, and find that it is warm and nurturing for the kids.

My daughter was somewhere else before we switched her, and we have been very happy since we moved her to the Bright Horizons. The class is not huge, and is usually well under control. They do “centers” and rotate through the centers each day. I like that the kids choose which centers they want to do by putting their name on the board by the center they wish to sign up for – they are gaining some independence in making choices.

There is a different theme each week, and my daughter has really learned a lot. Her reading, writing, and math skills really took off recently, and we weren't even expecting or intending that she learn to read, write, or do addition/subtraction so early (I'm not worried about this at age 4!) - I think it's the way they break into small groups for the "centers" and she often chooses the writing and math center.
