Acura is offering $1k off MSRP if you own an Acura already (loyalty cash) with no dealer markup.

Define "getting better". Right now dealers are transitioning to taking orders for 2023s, so you may find it hard to even order a car for the next few weeks. I'd jump on a 2022 if you can find it (dealers are just going to charge more for 2023s). Personally I would not pay over msrp. You need to email dealers (or choose a new type of car). We just paid for a Subaru we ordered in May. Herb Gordon in Silver Spring was not charging over msrp. We also were looking at used cars and there were some not bad deals to be had at dealerships selling other brand trade-ins. For example, buying a used Honda at a Volkswagen dealer.

Try calling dealerships in WV or Pennsylvania and take a day trip.

I chose to make $2000 in repairs on a 2008 Prius, instead of buying new. Prices in California are absurd. Can’t wait for the recession when all these slimy car salesmen are desperate. I’m going to waltz in with my cash, a smile, and watch them practically beg me to buy a car. Losers.

Go to another dealer. I think the odyssey is now ranked third after Toyota and Kia.

Yeah, no way.

When we said that, the dealer basically said "see ya in two years then". I'm still in the early phases of this process but looking around here, $5K seems like what people are paying. Unbelievable.

If the manufacturer raised the MSRP $5k and the dealer sold at that price with no markup, nobody would bat an eye.

There are new cars available under MSRP if you’re flexible and willing to contact multiple dealers to negotiate.

I bought about a month and a half ago and there seems to be even less inventory now when I look online.

We are in need of a car but they are ridiculously expensive. We are choosing to get a new transmission on our older car instead of buying another car to replace
