That’s funny. I thought the Obama years were not good, when he gave us no raises and the sequester happened (Agencies didn’t pay back lost pay in the sequester, so my husband and I each lost a week of pay that year).

Don’t count on a party to be good to the Federal workforce.

OP - No. I’m not worried.

The point of schedule F is to transfer people from the competitive service to a position more like the excepted service where you can be fired without cause. You have “Policy” in your position title. Expect it to be designated as schedule F.

Schedule F is for anyone with a policy position? The linked article was pretty light on who exactly would go on Schedule F.

Almost any Republican would be pretty aggressive. The hate for federal workers and desire for small government is serious.

You think Desantis will have more restraint with civil servants?

It's really sad that people learn so little history now that they think a return to the spoils system would be efficient.

Didn’t we say that in 2016 too?

Call your Senator - this exact issue was the subject of an amendment by Rep. Connolly in the NDAA that has already been passed in the House.

This. Also, did your agency talk about which positions would be Schedule F back when the exec order was passed? I know mine was safe but some of my colleagues weren't. Also, even the Trump political appointees at my agency were threatened with being fired but never were. They all stayed until the election.

I'm in a management/policy-type civil service position that I suppose could be within the scope of Schedule F that Trump wants to resurrect if he wins. I wouldn't be shocked if DeSantis or any other GOP politician did something similar. Wondering how likely it is that jobs could be in jeopardy. I love my job, already have 20 years in the system and would prefer not to move.
