Was that article incorrect? Maybe the knife guy was upset that someone is trying to fraudulently get his name on the ballot and steal the election. Violence is never the answer though.

Parties and the rules around them in New York are weird. He had the signatures to get on the Republican ballot, and then photocopied them to also get on the Independence Party ballot.
