Yes - part of careful therapy is evaluating what you're already taking, why you're taking and why you want to try these medicines (and I do believe in the medicinal benefits). A lot of studies have come out with people wanting alternatives to traditional medicines and anti-depressants because of the known side effects of them and the never ending cycle of needing to increase dosing/change meds and the not life killing, but joy killing side effect of most pills. It's also been used for end-of-life therapies, and overcoming real trauma and has produced measurable beneficial results.
It's worth diving into the research and if interested, going about it in a very methodical way to address your personal needs.
