Marquette is not really close to the lake and the campus is kinda stuck in a highway bypasses though and you have to gettheorugh rough patches to get to the cute pats of milwaukee from campus as well. Loyola is in one of the suburbs on the lake right? Not right in Chicago from what I can remember.

It really depends upon your major. But overall Marquette is definately the Better university. Milwaukee is a great town, and MU has great spirit. Very pleased with my kid's 4 years there.
Marquette is a great school and I like Milwaukee, but if one were to choose based on locale, come on, Chicago has more to offer (and I don't mean crime -- Chicago actually has a lower overall crime rate). But then again, I'm originally from Chicago so am admittedly biased.![]()
Nope. It doesn’t actually. Much better use of lakefront in Milwaukee and a friendlier vibe.

Marquette is consistently ranked ~20-25 ahead of Loyola in many rankings, if that matters to you.
But yes, they are similar.

Definitely Loyola for nursing. But Marquette is probably the better school overall. And Milwaukee is a great small city.
