I think it depends on the classes more than the school - find a school of interest and start asking questions.

My son is in one this summer, from a local community college. So yes they exist. He was looking for in person, but that class was cancelled.

Without getting into the reasons, I am looking into online schooling. I do not want a school like University of Phoenix or Strayer. I do need the classes to be synchronous so the student can log in at a set time and be able to ask the teacher questions and hear the other students’ questions. The particular classes the student wants to take are asynchronous at the local community college. Are most/all of the online schools asynchronous? If yes, we will need to regroup. Thank you.
