Everyone thinks retired people are the answer but no way would I do this stressful job twice a day with the responsibility of two strange kids in my car. When I am retired that is not how I would want to spend my time. Face it the person has little to no freedom between drop off and pick up and it is incredibly stressful. It was the least fun being a parent but I did it for my kids.

It's about 6 miles away from our house, though a large portion of that driving is on River Road heading in the direction of rush hour traffic, so what takes 15 minutes to get to without traffic can likely take more like 30-45 depending. The bus for the school picks up rather early locally (7am) as I imagine its the first of many stops even farther out. Since school doesn't start until 8:30am, I don't want my ES age child on a bus for an additional 1.5hours more than they need to be both in the morning and the afternoon (would be the last stop in the PM).
We were looking to hire someone to take said child to and pick up from school each day. No other nannying or babysitting responsibilities needed, literally just a driver. What are some others on here paying or what is considered reasonable, etc?
Other options like morning care, car pooling with other families, etc. are being explored but I specifically wanted to know this regarding a driver.
Thanks so much.

I need help for morning and afternoon drop off but no one can survive with that little of part time work. Unless you call an Uber or taxi everyday, it just doesn’t work. It is finding a unicorn without doubt.
