Or, maybe they just don’t plan to enforce anything anyway, so this lets people do with they want, while pretending that the university is actually doing something. I can’t make sense of it.

All schools should, freshmen getting sick during first semester is as common as little kids getting sick during their first months in daycare. With shared living, its tough to manage hand/nose/mouth hygiene.
I got strep so many times in my freshman year...looking back, I wonder if people were a little more aware like we are today and wore masks when they were sick, if things would have been different.

Unclear that will last until fall. It's probably the height of the variant surge right now. (I live in CA so have been watching.)
