If people HAD housing, there’d BE no crime. But as long as you have a society where disenfranchised people see others with more, they feel less-than. And they strike out in the only way they have a voice - by committing crime.
Give every person caught breaking into cars a home of their own that they can be proud of, and crime will vanish.

When I lived in a high crime area, I had an old car and left the doors unlocked. My car got rifled through, but it was better than a broken window.

+1. In Saudi Arabia they cut off your hand. We don’t need to do that but let’s take off the kid gloves in dealing with these people.
