I hope he decides to forego the partying in the future. It's okay to not partake. I also love that he thought of you and you had his back. I hope you can joke about it together someday soon.

Relax, Karen. He just needs to eat a smaller amount next time.

"And I kind of want to shout to the parents of little ones, "OH YEAH?!?" But that's stupid and petty."

Huh? What do parents of little kids have to do with any of this? Did you know that life is not a competition? And hey, if you want a gold star for having a harder life than me, here ya go! Here's your gold star! I'm glad to admit other people have it harder than me!

Oh my.

If it helps, I had way too much one time when I was 19. It definitely made me a lot more careful. I would barely touch it after that.

OP here. He ate too much of the ol' marijuanas.

And he just had a safe yet highly unpleasant encounter that will likely put him off of drug use in the future. And he trusts you and called you for help, because you have a good relationship. Not sure why the need for an “oh yeah?” at parents of young kids.

DH did the same thing. He said it was extremely scary and he thought he was overdosed and on the brink of death. It happens.

My 62-year-old mother texted me when she was freaking out on an edible. So it goes both ways. LOL.

Good job.

Scary for both of you. I hope he's learned his lesson.

Everyone's fine. He was way too high and also panicked and not in a great place mentally before he ate the edible.
But I needed to put this somewhere.
And I kind of want to shout to the parents of little ones, "OH YEAH?!?" But that's stupid and petty.
He's an otherwise great young adult who usually makes good decisions.
Thank you for listening.
