Do your own homework? Why do you want your kids to join a high school tennis team? Is it to add a check mark to your kids college application?

Just did a quick scan of results. Looks like the girls are very good( beat Oakton high which is a solid team) and boys not so much

Churchill likely unless they make it Blair or Richard Montgomery

Churchill is decent it’s not Wooten level but your kid has to be good and should get private

This person was just being sarcastic/trolling around.
OP here: just want a feel for what kids who want to play HS competitively do-group plus occasional private or regularly both. The JSI environment is 3 hours per day practice (includes fitness)which we will do 2 days a week FWIW

Depends which high school. If you’re talking Wooten or Mclean High then you have to be playing 3-4 times a week and possible tournament play because that team is legit. If you’re talking a smaller public school then 1-2 times a week is fine.

Op here: My child is going to middle school, loves tennis, and the intent is to play in HS. We live in Potomac/Rockville area, so willing to go as far as Germantown two times a week. We did explore some programs in this area, but like JSI the best so planning to sign up there. It is an intense program so not sure if people supplement with private lessons at this age or not. We have been doing private for a while.

Do you do weekly private lessons if your child is already doing 2-3 r
times a week group practices at JSI?
