Also some place with use malt vinegar in the rice.

Ok. Malt vinegar is not ok in sushi. What kind of backwoods joint does that?

You would be surprised. It’s cheaper.

You would think so but my kids have Celiac so cross contamination and mistakes can be an issue (i.e., tobiko in a tuna roll isn't okay). I was just hoping for an easy experience where the restaurant knows what is and isn't a problem and we don't have to hound servers. The place in Arlington sounds promising.

Avoid the spicy sauces too, many are not gf. I’ve had luck at Kyoto in Alexandria but it’s a neighborhood place and imagine you can find something closer/posher.

I’ve had good luck at Wegmans too. Also the imitation crab at Wegmans is gf.

I know it is easy to find gluten free sushi but have two kids with Celiac and last time we tried, it was a struggle. The place was recommended but the server confused gluten free and vegetarian and it was only because I knew tobiko isn't gluten free that we avoided a problem.

If you can recommend a place with a gluten free menu or where you've had an easy time in the past, that would be great! We live in NW DC but happy to travel some.
