NP, why? Wouldn't it be better to pay bus drivers and teachers more to attract people to those jobs rather than give away money for free? Kill two birds with one stone, as it were.
Because it's apples to oranges. The really crazy thing about this program is how little it costs -- $2 million -- and what a big difference it makes in these families' lives.
I really think this is what the future holds. Every time I see something about robots delivering food in restaurants and self-driving delivery cars and self-driving trucks, I wonder about the people who had those low paying jobs.
