This doesn't mean someone didn't make a thread or even that there wasn't an arrested for making a thread. My takeaway was there was nothing going on at the school and things were fine.
My child was there and reported that the cops came in with riot shields out. At the time, this was being treated as a real threat.

I wouldn't assume that everything MCPS says is true, since it's not in their best interests to admit mistakes. There was an ES incident where a child was pranked with a MCPS email, similar to what happened at Churchill. MCPS never told the other parents and never apologized to the family.

It's like listening to madness. Insanity. Our SCOTUS has made it easier for crazies to shoot and kill just about anyone. The SCOTUS is filled with highly educated people, yet they allow mass shootings, refuse to stop the plague of guns in our country.
Japan had a shooting, yes, but it has almost ZERO gun violence. Why? No guns.
Why can't we do that here? If you want to own a gun, join a militia and defend your country. Otherwise, limit shooting to shooting ranges, and keep your guns there. Buy a baseball bat if you want to defend your home. No one needs an assault rifle or semi-automatic pistol.
I hate the gun folks and the SCOTUS justices who support their choosing guns over children's lives. All our lives. Shame, shame, shame on them, Godless souls.
I have to disagree. You’re blaming this incident on SCOTUS? That is a huge leap.
The kid making this threat clearly has other issues. We can focus on what drives kids to do this and focus on how we can prevent these kinds of threat. But your reaction doesn’t align with the issue at hand, at all.

I also got the impression it was just a crank call, but glad they caught the person responsible. It really isn't funny.

OP here. My son had an online mass shooting threat at his middle school, too. That student posed with guns, and that student was moved to a different middle school.
Last year's incident, where the kid only faced school discipline, MCPS did not switch the student to another school. He did not have access to weapons.
So I think in this case, if it was serious enough for an arrest, she likely isn't coming back to that school.
The police do have an excellent threat assessment team. A lot of kids just talk trash. But some don't. They mean it. And it's critical that the police determine the difference.

My child attends this school and I live close enough that I spoke with the responding officers in real time. They handled it well and were in and out quickly.

The kids are not all right. I assume she was arrested because she had access to weapons. Or maybe it's just because of Magruder. A kid at my son's school threatened a mass shooting last November and he only faced school discipline.
