Yeah it just gets pricey and often you have to wait for shipping.

I agree. Their stuff is boxy.

OP, I have a rising 7th grader as well- and she is tall and has broad shoulders (but slim). She's still in her 10-12s.

I'd get like 2 10-12 and then maybe 2 14s.

My issue with them is the length. My tall 8 yo had to switch to 10-12 just so the items were long enough. OP unless your 7th grader is petite I'd buy the larger size.

Fingers crossed, our school seems poised to allow generic uniforms from box stores. Cost savings aside, the fit options there are much better.

I literally had the same conundrum for my tall but skinny 12yo. She has an older shirt that's 10-12 and insists that's what first best, so that's what I got, but I am sure I'll need to buy some more soon.

When DD was between sizes for skorts, we used to buy lands end (the bigger size) and then do a stich in the waist (aka fold over the fabric and sew together). That way the skirt can last a bit longer thru multiple years. You could never tell where the stich wasy (used similar color thread) and it looked just fine b/c a polo was over it.
