Yes and no. Companies can donate unlimited amounts but not to a candidate. Candidate funds are limited and only by individuals or PACs. The unlimited amounts go to campaigns for/against candidates or issues but the candidate cannot control those funds. It’s all controlled by third parties.

OK, thanks. All I see is federal election law and that says no, businesses can't donate. But maybe that doesn't apply to local offices.

To Will Jawando (I haven't looked at other candiates yet):

Connesieur, Inc. from Atlanta, GA
Covanta, who runs the incinerator here in the county
Pether Solutions of Virginia
Sky Blue Lounge in Bowie
Spectrum Lounge in Beltsville
The Cottage Monet in Rockville
Viking Center LLC in Burtonsville

Wes Moore for Maryland gave $1,950. How does one campaign finance another?

JKJ Restaurant Group of Silver Spring
Silver Spring Restaurant Group LLC of Silver Spring

So I think what it is is that it can't be deducted with taxes for the businesses but they can still give?
