They don't really know yet what happens in non-diabetic people if they go off it completely. It's too new. I think everyone is assuming that to keep the weight off, you will either need to have made significant lifestyles changes and/or stay on a lower, "maintenance" dose.

Yep, I’m the second poster on this thread. It doesn’t work for me nearly as good as Wegovy but I’ll take it for $25. I’m down about 15lbs. Moving up to 12,5mg next week.

I’ve been on Mounjaro for a month and have lost ten pounds on the lowest dose. Main side effect for me has been dry mouth. It really is amazing. I have also had way fewer migraines, usually a big problem for me, and I’m guessing the fact that Mounjaro prevents glycemic swings has something to do with it. My insurance covers it, fortunately, but honestly I would have been willing to pay out of pocket, it’s that amazing. (Crossing fingers there is no horrible, currently unknown long term effect, like after ten years it turns you into a frog, or something).

Since I have Tricare, I can’t get it approved, and the coupon wont be approved either. Very disappointed

I started Friday night and woke up just not hungry on Saturday. And then I really couldn’t eat much. It delays gastric emptying so this next part makes sense. I ate a more normal dinner and had heartburn all night. I don’t think that will be a problem if I watch dinner size and timing. It seems like it is going to take big changes if I’m going to be successful but it pretty much forces those changes.

I’m starting this weekend. I have a direct pcp so it’s a bit more accessible and she had a sample pack to start, but I’d try telemedicine or something like that if I didn’t have a pcp. Or get a pcp.

Yep. I started on it 7 days after it was FDA approved. You must.have commercial insurance for the coupon to work. The easiest way to get it is through telemedicine providers like Push medica or HelloAlpha. But my best suggestion to you is to first join the Mournjaro Facebook group. Every thing you need to know will be in that group. The admin of the group (not me,is really good).

Wegovy is not covered through my insurance and even Calibrate couldn’t help. I’m just now hearing about Mounjaro, also not covered by my insurance, but I heard there’s a coupon for $25/mo. Is that accurate? How does that work?

Also I do kit currently have a PCP (I know I know…) so who would be best to go through to get a prescription?
