However, I'm going through the membership process now at Kenwood, and everyone I've met, from members to the professionals have been incredibly helpful and kind. I'm very impressed with the tennis facilities and pros- tennis is the main reason I'm joining. I'm already a long time member of the oldest private downtown club and use it frequently for dining and social. But frankly have become bored with some of the super right leaning members who have seemed to feel empowered now. I have found Kenwood is diverse, but certainly has plenty of old money, wasps families- maybe as much as Chevy Chase, which seems to be the chosen club today of Fox media and other more limelight type Washington folks- people out to impress. I'm bored with those folks.I love that Kenwood is low-key, very family oriented, and love the historic old school Tudor clubhouse, and the fantastic newish health and tennis facilities. I'm looking forward to my time at Kenwood. Plus it's only 12 minutes from my house in upper NW Washington.
All Kenwood families I know are very nice. It would be our first choice for sure. We have been asked to apply in the past but the timing was not right. How long is the process to join and what is the process?
