Nobody remembered mine. And by nobody, I actually mean nobody.

The squeaky wheels get their birthday celebrated. If you want to be celebrated, squeak more.

I am always shocked when people remember mine, I'm terrible with remembering others and that's why I am thankful for Facebook for reminding me!

You and OP should get together in real life and buy each other cupcakes or donuts or something, to celebrate.

I get it OP. I have a friend group that goes cookoo for birthdays. Big lunch gatherings, presents, the whole nine yards. I have participated in so many of these, and have yet to have one on my behalf - mainly because my birthday falls on a holiday weekend usually. So I just continue along celebrating others and feel a little blue every now and then to be brutally honest....

Other than that, I don't remember anyone's birthdays except close family.

But have forgiveness for your friends. OP, not everyone cares about birthdays. It's kind of you to remember others, but it is not their love language. Birthdays, in general, are really not a big deal to a lot of people.

I’m not typically one to wallow, but may I please be pitiful here anonymously?

Outside of my husband, children, and mother, not a soul remembered yesterday was my birthday. Not a single one of my friends whose birthdays I remembered and celebrated this past year. No other family. Nobody.

Not sure why it bothers me so much this year. I’m feeling so spiteful, like I’m just done caring about other people at this point. But I know I can’t be that person. Thanks for letting me vent selfishly!
