Nope, not the ANC. It is the Mayor's friend who lives in the across the street building who doesn't want their view altered.

The ANC and broader community were all for the new GDS development.

My understanding is that the ANC is slowing development.

Not a priority. The new activist Center is as well as upper school Reno’s plus fundraising.

While the expanded GDS campus is amazing, I wish that the mixed-use commons expansion along Wisconsin Ave would move forward. City Ridge, Upton Place are nearing completion but the part of Wisconsin near GDS is pretty dull and boring. I understand that the school put the commons development on hold for a while to get the core campus rebuilt. It would be great to get this going, to create a vibrant mixed-use center for students, parents and the community to gather. Tenleytown is looking tired and is in desperate need of renewal. A win-win-win!
