I wouldn’t. There are plenty of non religious sleep away camps. Doesn’t make sense to send your non-Jewish kid to a Jewish faith based camp.

My DDs have all gone to Rim Rock, youngest there now. As per usual haven’t heard from her yet but she and oldest sisters have loved, two started as 7 year olds, older ones stayed through HS and became counselors. Owner had/has financial issues apparently but even after two years of COVID smaller number of campers this year at drop off seemed full on.

Check out Farm and Wilderness in VT, which like a few others are described, is also diverse and inclusive. Now is a good time to start your research as many overnight camps open registration in September October and have wait lists by January.

If your child is athletic, look at Overland Summers.

Great all around camp, not religious, but Frost Valley in the Catskills is amazing

Independent Lake Camp isn't Jewish per se, but it's a very diverse and inclusive place.

Camp Louise is a Jewish camp and has a 4 week and a 3 week session

Do you have a limit as to how far away the camp could be be?

From your description of your daughter, I would say Camp Timber Tops in the Poconos would be perfect for her. Mostly Jewish kids but not religious. They have a variety of activities: arts, swimming, theatre, sports. Just a really nice and supportive atmosphere with an emphasis on the kids having fun.

Oh and an awesome arts program. Sorry for the multiple posts. Was bizarrely just watching the video from this camp 5 minutes ago and then saw your post. They have this whole art lab, culinary options plus all the normal camp things.

Capital Camps has 2 choices- a 3 week session and a 4 week session. They have different tour dates this summer, so you should try to get up there. It is a Jewish camp and I highly recommend it!

It has a bit of everything- though for cooking maybe not so much. It is a general camp where the kids do loads of everything and love every minute of it.

The ones I’ve seen recommended are camp Rim Rock and YMCA camps. I went to camp Highlander in NC as a kid and considering sending my kid there as well

Looking for 2-4 week sleepaway camps to consider for my daughter for next summer - she will be 10 and going into 5th grade. It seems like many of the shorter options out there are focused on something specific, like soccer or theater, but ideally she wants something well rounded like a day camp vs. intense in one thing. She is really into arts, gymnastics, swimming, cooking and less interested in sports, but I do want her to be active.

Huge plus if there is a Jewish population at the camp (but don’t want/need it to be religious) - she is one of only a couple Jewish kids in her grade at school and the only one who attends Hebrew school, so it would be nice for her to be around more Jewish kids.
