They must have needed a lot of volunteers. Everyone gets paid what the last person is offered. On a recent flight we were it got up to $1600 pp but started at $600 I think.

I would set up Apple Pay for that (which would be a bigger accomplishment than getting my plane seat — you could probably con me out of that with a well rehearsed sob story tbh).
