It’s not visible from outside, you need to go inside an unmarked door to find it, and it’s as bare bones as you can be and still be a functioning restaurant. I’ve never eaten anything less than amazing there and while it is vegan, you in no way need to be vegan to enjoy it.

There used to be a few places like this on Rockville Pike. They're all gone now. Once I went into this tiny watch repair shop to get a new battery and walked out the side door into this fabulous Chinese place. It was like a dream, going through some drab, wrong door into someplace fabulous.

Franks Burger Place in Wheaton. Get the garlic aioli with your fries. Get extra aioli while you’re at it.

Because we all obviously like food and sharing is a nice thing to do

And so the hidden gem doesn’t go out of business.

I get that argument but I think holes in the wall can continue to be holes in the wall with a huge crowd from this site. One example is Kabob Palace in Crystal City.

Thai Taste by Kob in Wheaton. Best thai food, total hole in the wall. Not exactly cheap but not crazy expensive and very worth it.

Anywhere in DMV with great food and cheap prices. Don’t care about atmosphere. Want to start a list. I like George’s Falafel and Cheesesteaks in gtown for example.
